If you are ready to swim for a longer amount of time throughout the year and you want to do it with a higher temperature of water in your pool, then you need to know what kind of cost will be associated with a pool heater. There are three main types of pool heaters and the cost of pool heater depends on the choice you make and how much it costs to run it. Here is what you are looking at for the cost of your new pool heater.

First, you can get a gas pool heater and the cost of this pool heater is not too bad. You are going to spend about 0 to 0 for the actual heater, then to run it you are looking at about 0 a month. This is if you are running it pretty constantly and depending on the climate you live in you might not have to run it as much as you would expect. This is one of the more expensive options, but you can get your pool up 5 to 7 degrees in a couple of hours with a gas heater.

Second, you can also go with an electric pool heater and this one as a cost of pool heater that is a bit cheaper than the gas choice. This type of heater will run you around 0 to 0 depending on the model and size you purchase. This will also only run you about to extra a month on your electric bill if you are running it on a regular basis. This is still a pretty expensive option, but it will work well and get you hotter pool water.

Last, you can use a solar pool heater to get you that longer swimming season. This will be the cheapest option and you can purchase or build one for between 0 and 0. Plus it will only cost you about to more on your electric bill to run the pump that comes with the heater. However, this will not be able to work when the sun is not out. You can combine a solar heater and an electric heater for a very affordable price and get your water to a great temperature. This will allow you to run the electric heater for a few hours at night and the solar heater during the day.

Proper Swimming Pool Temperature

ItemTitle

What is an ideal swimming pool temperature? This is a difficult question to answer because it varies based on individual swimmers preferences. Based on recommended heater temperatures and settings from virtually all manufactures, the ideal range for both indoor and outdoor pools is anywhere from 75 degrees to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. This figure should not be thought of as final as temperature and comfort does differ from person to person and environment to environment, but it a good goal to reach.

If you have a backyard swimming pool without a heater, looking for an ideal temperature is a difficult task. The temperature will gradually increase as the season changes and as the pool heats up, but the initial temperature in the early parts of the swimming season will be quite cold - usually well less than 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Even though there is no proper pool temperature, water temperature less than 65 degrees Fahrenheit are unpleasant even for the most adventurous swimmers. On the other side, if you do have an outdoor pool with a heater, set it at something that is comfortable to your swimmers and your activity level. For instance, cooler water is more ideal for exercising where warmer water is better for a lounge / beach atmosphere. But, keep in mind that turning up your heater too much can lead to unexpected drama.

When you increase the temperature of your water, it can have an effect on pool maintenance. With higher temperature comes more water evaporation. This means you will need to be more diligent about filling up your pool to keep the water in your skimmers. Higher water temperatures also mean a faster buildup of dissolved solids. This is basically the "bad stuff" that the chlorine attacks in water. Higher pool water temperatures will also burn off your chlorine and pool sanitizing agents much more quickly. Algae also love the hot water so they will grow faster and force more serious and diligent maintenance such as vacuuming, squeeging, and cleanup.

Even if you don't have a heater to maintain your temperature, the same concerns of a warmer pool will eventually plague your pool in peak summer heat environments. Keep an eye out for seasonal changes and how they will affect your water chemistry. The most important chemical water reading in during hot and cold times will be your total alkalinity. When the weather is cooler, your total alkalinity should be increased. In warmer weather, your total alkalinity should be decreased with a muriatic acid to keep the saturation index fairly constant.

There is no ideal swimming pool water temperature but you should adjust your temperature based on your individual preference. Also, keep in mind the added responsibilities that come with maintaining a warmer pool. Watch out for seasonal changes and note how they affect your water chemistry. Both cold and warm temperatures have an effect on pool chemistry and maintenance routines.

Fort Desoto Campgrounds - A Review of the Best Campgrounds in Fort Desoto

ItemTitle

Fort Desoto Park is the largest park in the Pinellas Park System, and spans 1,136 acres of five interconnecting islands. This area is home for many plants and trees, palms, Mangroves, and wetlands, as well as more that 290 different documented species of birds. This is also where you are going to find the nesting habitat of the loggerhead sea turtles that come here between April and September to lay their eggs. There are so many things to see and do, from roaming the beaches, walking among the ruins of Fort Desoto proper, fishing or boating, as well as many others. It is no wonder why this is one of the most popular settings in the area.

There are a few local Fort Desoto Campgrounds available close by. One of these of course is the Fort Desoto Campground. This campground has much to offer the visitor, from full and partial hook up sites, camping sites, along the beaches of two different areas. There are clean restrooms, showers and even laundry facilities. There is a dump station, camp store with just about every thing you need. There are excellent views of Tampa Bay and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, and the sunrises and sets are some of the best in the world. There is an abundance of activities here, from walking on the beaches, fishing and swimming, boating and bike rentals of all shapes and sizes. There are 238 different sites, with grills and tables, as well as a large boat launching facility and pier.

Another of the Fort Desoto campgrounds in the area is the St. Petersburg/Madeira Beach KOA. This is a full service campground with tent sites, RV's and cabins. This KOA can accommodate vehicles up to sixty feet, and offers fifty amp services. They have WiFi, a pool and hot tub, clean hot showers and bathrooms. For an additional fee, propane, firewood, mini golf and bike rentals are available. Some of the local attractions include deep sea fishing, shopping and dining, the St. Petersburg Pier and Aquarium, and so much more.

Very close by is another of the Fort Desoto Campgrounds, the Sherwood Forest RV Resort in Palm Harbor Florida. This place has large sites with full hookups, and many amenities. They have tent sites, pull throughs and fifty amp services. There is an RV as well as boat storage facilities, a pool, as well as a lake. There are clean and well kept restrooms and showers, and free WiFi. The pool is heated, the lake is well stock and fishing is allowed. There are laundry facilities, a recreation hall with pool tables, and even street lights for safety. You have a number of local attractions, from SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, the Fort Desoto Park, the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary, and so much more.

While there are plenty of RV parks for adults and seniors, there are not many other family oriented Fort Desoto campgrounds. While there are many families coming here, most of them are staying at the Fort Desoto Campgrounds, or at one of the two KOA campgrounds in the area. If you want RV parks, there are many different resorts, from the Vacation Village Travel Park, to Travel World RV Park. Both of these have full hook ups cable and WiFi, a pool laundry and store, as well as near many of the attractions in the area.
